Sunday Night CCBC Class

If you haven't made it to our Sunday eve study- YOU’RE MISSING OUT! Dr. Miller is teaching a series on systematic theology- but in a very practical and in a "nuts and bolts" fashion. Those attending bring a snack to share, and the atmosphere is very relaxed while informative. This is a great time to openly discuss the Bible and living out the Christian life in a helpful and affirming setting.

March 13th Scheduled for YMCA

Each spring the CCBC family rents the local YMCA and enjoys a night of recreation and fellowship. Make plans to join us for this great event!

Valentine's Banquet Held

If you missed our last CCBC Valentines Banquet- you missed a GREAT NIGHT! With a very special appearance by ma and pa Kettle (all the way from Abingdon) and of COURSE, the TRULY wed game- which produced a LOT of laughs (maybe even a few red faces). It was a wonderful night of fun and fellowship- with outstanding food provided by Chef John Davis.

CCBC Ladies Trip to Dutchman Store

A group of ladies from CCBC recently enjoyed a trip over to southeast Iowa to enjoy the Dutchman Store, a Mennonite ran store in Cantril, IA. All had a wonderful time and are planning a return trip soon!

Dr. Miller at Avon Nursing Home

Dr. Miller was blessed to have the opportunity recently to share some music and some encouraging Bible verses with some of the residents at Avon Nursing home. Thank you to his daughters who played music on the piano and to his new son 2 year old son who handed out songbooks.

Dr. Miller at Galesburg Rescue Mission

Recently Dr. Miller was again invited to speak at the Galesburg Rescue Mission and was blessed to have the opportunity to minister the encouraging Word of God into the lives of those gathered there. Pray for the ministry of the mission and for those who so diligently work there.

Dr. Miller at Faith Bible Camp

On June 29th Dr. Miller taught at Faith Bible Camp's Jr. High camp. THANK YOU goes out to James Cameron who assisted in a very special drama which touched the lives of many of the young people.

Father Son Outing Enjoyed!

On June 20th fathers and sons enjoyed a cookout followed by a trip to Peoria to Pirates football game! Check out the gallery for pics!

Outstanding Mother Daughter Banquet Held

Recently at Coal Creek Bible the church was filled with an outstanding mother daughter banquet. The food was wonderful, the program outstanding and all those who attended where tremendously blessed!

Jacob Miller to Speak at Baccalaureate

This years Baccalaureate Service will be held Sunday May 17th at 4:00PM at the United Methodist Church in Maquon, IL. This year we are doing something totally new,as the program will be totally student lead! With help from other Spoon River Valley High School seniors and the SRVHS Concert Choir, Jacob Miller (Dr. Miller's oldest son) will be sharing the baccalaureate message. CCBC is proud of all our seniors and prays that God will bless each of them in a very special way!

Dr. Miller leads Illinois House Invocation

Tuesday March 24th Dr. Miller was invited to return to the ILL House of Representatives to present the invocation to start the session. See the photo gallery for pictures!

Rememberence Service Held for Mitchell Rives

Two years after his tragic accident, friends and of Mitchell Rives gathered March 8th to remember their classmate. Dr. Miller lead the service which included watching a presentation built by one of Mitch's classmates. Our love thoughts and prayers continue to go out to Mitch's family.

2008 Country Christmas a WONDERFUL eve!

On Sunday, December 7th 2008 CCBC hosted its annual 1870's Country Christmas. It was a wonderful night of food, fellowship and some toe-tapping music! Packed House for Annual CCBC Harvest Dinner!

On Nov 23, 2008 the CCBC church family was delighted with the challenge of setting up additional seating to accommodate the large turn out for the annual Harvest Dinner.THANK YOU to all who participated, from those who helped with food to setting up, to cleaning up- it all added up to one WONDERFUL EVENING of food and Christian Fellowship!

New Construction at CCBC

The basement area of CCBC has recently undergone new paint, and is about to take a considerable step forward in terms of convenience- as a restroom is being added downstairs. Thank you to those involved in this project!

Dr. Miller meets artist Charles Freitag

As many of you know Dr. Miller grew up on a small farm near Keokuk, Iowa and today very much enjoys the rural farm heritage. Finally there is an artist that has been blessed with the ability to "paint" that farm heritage, Charles Freitag. Fog Causes Semi Collision

On Monday, February 4th one of the elders of CCBC was driving his semi in the dense fog and was involved in a serious collision involving another semi on highway 116 south of Hermon,IL. The Coal Creek congregation offers it's praise to God for His divine hand of protection in this serious accident. We also wish to extend our thanks to the London Mills Fire and Rescue crew who work hard and deserve our thanks and gratitude. New Minstry to Truckers Underway!

CCBC has launched a new campaign to minister to those dedicated men and women who keep America running behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler. Truck stops throughout the Midwest will soon be stocking our teaching CD's. In coordination with this CD distribution, we are proud to announce the launching of a new website ministry truckingforchrist.org Involved in this ministry is Hollis Palmer, a retired OTR driver, and also enlisted are other current drivers who are involved in CD distribution. Dr. Miller's Texas Trip

Dr. Miller recently attended a conference at the Walvoord Study Center in Clifton, Texas lead by Dr. Mal Couch. Dr. Miller was joined by other pastors around the country to examine in depth many topics relating to Israelology. While in Texas Dr. Miller enjoyed a day off with some dear friends Stan and Linda Gary who own Three Mountain Retreat. Thank you to Dr. Mal Couch and Dr. Andy Woods for your teaching, and to Stan and Linda for being the wonderful people you are! Thanks to Joe for loaning his guitar, and for taking time to sit and enjoy some music together at the ranch! Thanks also to both Stan and Joe for taking time to make two little girls dream come true riding horses on a Texas ranch! Linda- Bits is ready to get back to the kitchen for KP!! Lacy- you blessed us in a way few ever have- we love you dearly. Pastor Steve- I enjoyed your teaching as well! Let's get the families together! Pastor Jamie- I enjoyed the walk by the lake at Waco- it was wonderful meeting you and may God continue to bless your ministry in PA!!

CCBC New Years Fellowship

The family of Coal Creek Bible Church along with friends from the area enjoyed a wonderful evening as we once again rented the local high school gym for an evening of recreation and fellowship! THANK YOU to all the folks that brought wonderful snacks, and to each one who participated in making this the fun evening that it was!

Dr. Miller Speaks at Rescue Mission

Dr. Miller was been contacted by a local mission ministry and has accepted an invitation to speak at the Galesburg, IL Rescue Mission. Pastor Miller reports that that the meeting was heavily attended and people were very open and receptive to the teaching of God's Word. Please pray for those in our area who find themselves in need. May each of us be reminded to reach out to others this Christmas and throughout the year!

Dr. Miller Speaks at Men's Retreat

Dr. Miller joined Pastor Al Sommers from Checkrow Community Church, Pastor Phil Sommers from Newcastle and Pastor Jim Minney from the Fiatt church to speak at a men's retreat which was held at the Evangelical Free Church in Canton. A great group of men gathered to spend a Saturday together with the theme of "The High Ground" in morality, in our families, in our vocation and in personal evangelism. 2nd Annual Country Christmas Preparations Underway

We are already meeting and planning out the 2nd annual CCBC Country Christmas. It is our plan to “roll back the hands of time” and invite everyone to the country church for a Christmas celebration from the 1890’s. We are working hard to make this an event to remember! The date for this year’s event is Dec 9th. STAY TUNED for more details!

Spoon River Valley High School Baccalaureate

Sunday afternoon May 13th CCBC hosted the Baccalaureate Service for the Spoon River Valley High School class of 2007. Participation from the senior class was outstanding! The Camerata Chamber Choir presented two songs and did a fantastic job! Several area pastors along with representatives from Gideon’s International joined together to congratulate and challenge the graduates. It was a service fitting of the hard work these young people have put forth. CCBC is proud to support our community and its families by hosting this event. Dr. Tommy Ice Prophecy Conference Huge Success!

We were tremendously blessed to have one of Dr. Miller's seminary teachers come to CCBC to hold a prophecy conference! 1st Annual CCBC Country Christmas HUGE Success!

WOW!!!! What can we say?!! What a WONDERFUL evening we had here for our first ever CCBC Country Christmas service! HUNDREDS of people joined us for this very special evening remembering Christmas in the church of yesteryear including horse drawn trolley rides and a Christmas Carol sing by lantern light.
