Where we are:
For those of you not already familiar with us, Coal Creek Bible Church is located in the beautiful Spoon River Valley in West Central IL. The church building in which we meet was built in 1866 and was originally St. John’s Lutheran Church. In October of 1951 it became Coal Creek Bible Church. Today the ministry of CCBC is not only impacting those in our region, but through the use of the Internet the growth of our “online congregation” has been nothing short of miraculous! Each week we continue to be amazed and humbled by what God is doing! You can reach Pastor Miller in the office at (309) 778-2395 or online at pastordon@coalcreekbible.org.
What we do:
The distinguishing characteristic of the ministry is CCBC is its strong emphasis on the systematic teaching of the Bible. A strong proponent of expository verse by verse teaching, you’ll learn details and understanding of the scriptures which are often overlooked by a casual glance. You are welcome to listen to our Sunday morning services right here on this webpage.
Our Sunday evening services are a causal classroom setting where we are currently examining Systematic Theology (Sources for this class include Lewis Sperry Chafer’s Systematic Theology; Charles Ryrie’s Basic Theology; Paul Enn’s Moody’s Handbook of Theology and Mal Couch’s A Biblical Theology of the Church). Although the subject matter is often deep and profound, the class is informative, instructive and practical, followed by a time of refreshments and fellowship!
